Support indy punk rock film making!

Jericho's Echo: Punk Rock in The Holy Land is an awesome movie about Israeli punk rock and they need your support. If you can help bring the movie to your local indy theatre or college campus get in touch with the film maker Liz (liz at liz nord dot com!)

There are some clips up at PBS. And if you're in Toronto today you can actually go see it at the Jewish Film Fest. Check out the screening schedule here.

I love everything punk rock, if it was a punk rock game show I would probably be all over it. I especially love this project because it encompasses judaism, middle-eastern politics and women film makers. I hope it comes to NYC soon!

That is kick-ass! It's so good to see those kids making a stand for what they want. I hope I can catch the film at some point.

hmm...might have to try to get this down here. I've known quite a few Israeli punks in the past and they've been the most devoted and sincere kids in any scene I've ever been in touch with. You have to be 110% in such a volatile community I suppose.

Vena roti does still exist-but now it's called A&S Roti. Vena's has another location by the same name. But my fave is Bacchus roti (more west) and still on Queen W.

Saw the movie when it played here in San Francisco.

There is a right wing band in the movie that will really make you scratch your head.

A punk rock game show? That would be the best. It would have to be both hh intellectually and physically challenging -- with MacGuyveresque tests to find out if you are truly Punk or simply a Quincy punk (not the band but the ones that were on the show Quincy).

Apart from the obvious band trivia, bad tattoos/piercings, and how to make liberty spikes with only a cup of sugar, a half a can of sizing, and a can of PBR, there would also have to be a hook that would get people watching and talking.

any ideas?
