Bake sale victory

The bake sale/screening/partay went over like a dream! We actually made 300 large! Um, ok not large, 300 small but that's a lot for a coupla' cupcakes. Thank you everyone who showed up, espesh the girl who came all the way from Long Island (Joan, I think?) and I think that one of ijustdiedinside's friends showed up in a fact finding mission. Our editor Niharika packed the place with her friends and there was a big showing from the nerd contingent. It was awesome meeting everyone and hearing a roomful of people laugh at all the right moments. I'll post some more pics later but for now behold the hoecakes!

The faux-Hostess Hoe cakes were spectacular. You could give them to a carnivore and they wouldn't know the difference.

it's true. i'm no vegan and they were much yummier than the plastic wrapped variety. very moist indeed.

the font is the sprinkles

My weekend was fun, but now i know that it lacked Hoecakes. Curse you PPK! but just until i too can bake the deep dark goodness of the HoeCake.

Now that you have mastered HoeCakes.

how about SnoBalls?

Little Debbie?

Peanut Butter Bars and Star Crunch....you would be a savior to all of us that are addicted to the junk.

Re: the font is the sprinkles

Hmm, I am not familiar enough with the delights of which you speak to even begin to try!

Re: the font is the sprinkles

The Snoballs were coconut covered marshmallow surrounding a chocolate cake with creme filling. The colors were often changed to reflect the holiday.

As for Little Debbie's snack treats, they were what the poor kids got in their lunch. Our folks could not afford Hostess brand so we got Little Debbie. You could get a box of her treats for a dollar even into the late eighties.

After that....not a clue went vegan in 1990 and have only looked back at Little Debbie, Captain Cupcake, and Twinkie the Kid.

Just check out LittleDebbie.com for a look at Nutty Bars and Star Crunches.
