The PPK is gone!
Well, our old domain is anyways. From now on we can't use www.theppk.com - it's a long story. Basically the person who was hosting it for me is MIA and the site has been down for 4 days!!! So I got www.postpunkkitchen.com and I am working to transfer everything over, right now the site is a mess and the recipes don't work. I don't think I need to tell you how much this stinks. We're going to lose our awesome google ranking, all the recipe ratings and we will possibly need a whole new database. All this a week after my harddrive was wiped clean and I lost half my book. I am trying not to be too upset by all of this, it's not like anyone has died. But it stinks, especially because we have so many people linking to theppk.com. I hope people can find us in our new home!

To add insult to injury, I bought a hairbrush the other day and when I got home and looked at the handle: 100% Pure Wild Boar! What an un-vegan week.

In happy news, the dvds have been sent off to the dvd factory and I expect to have eps 1-4 for sale next week - FINALLY. Oh, and t-shirts are coming! WIth a cute new logo!

PS Don't offer me advice on how to get the site back, I have tried ABSOLUTELY everything. No! I know you're thinking "But have you..." Yes! I have!
Womigod, that wild boar brush has turned me into a real bytch.

Agh, i'm really sorry to hear about the site problems! While i'm very glad i've got that killer Oatmeal Peanut Butter cookie recipe printed out, I really hope everything gets sorted out for you soon, the PPK is rad.

Awww... I noticed it was down. I tried about three times today to get on but, luckily, I've made the pesto recipe I was looking for so many times now that I was able to recall it all from memory.

Don't fuss about the google ranking... Your site is very, very popular and it won't stay hidden long - Even if you wanted it to.

In fact, I whore the damn thing out all the time.
And when the book hits stores, I'll whore that out too.

Take that ol bore brush - Donate it.
Even if it's the only thing you drop off at the Salvation Army. Someone can use it and it's going to keep making you feel yucky. :(

Then, therapy bake some awesome Mocha Chocolate Chip Muffins and eat them after a very, very long bubble bath.

(I find that the combination of chocolate and a good salt-scrub-bath can cure many-a-mood...)

But truly, none of us are going anywhere.

We'll all be patiently awaiting the new (and sure to be improved ;) site.

*Fingers crossed and positive energy*

I bought a cake mix once that announced it was egg, casein and wheat free.

Yet... contained buttermilk.

I was so bummed.

Evidently they waved a magic wand and removed casein from buttermilk :P

That's what *I'm* saying.

I was less than pleased... But, sometimes those mistakes can happen when you're dealing with small local mom and pops... :/

I wonder, do they kill the boars to get the hair? I guess I'll google it.

"The bristles are carefully harvested from a special breed of boar using a process similar to sheering sheep. The boar are extremely well cared for and the bristles are sheered repeatedly during their lifetimes."

whatever that means :(

*e-hug*

The person will turn up...bring the site back online...all will be good.

And after that..hella mirror the site on whatever server space you have now...or ask for donations to bring redundancy.

You're a celeb now...celeb's need server redundancy (just ask greg from reallifecomics.net)

hey, i just did a search on my webpages and changed all the ppk links to the new website (there were a few!) you could do a google search in a couple of months for sites that still link to theppk.com & email people asking them to change the link?

also, i emailed you a while ago about possibly selling the ppk dvd through my distro (moon rocket, www.moonrocket.co.nz) & you were keen but nearly out of copies of the old dvd. are you still interested in this? let me know.

I am so sorry about the Website! How frustrating!

Sorry to be "all about me," but would you be able to send me the matzoh ball recipe? I planned on preparing it tomorrow [Sat] morning for the Seder and I was going to read the recipe off the Website. [Ah!]

My e-mail is seaweed /underscore/ girle /at/ hotmail dot com.

Thank you! Can't wait to make the soup!

I'll call on all my friends with high Google Rankings to link to you. Hell, one of 'em is even vegan, so it wouldn't be out of character.

holy crap! i must've missed the post about your book lost. when i read the post that you were done, i assumed you wanted us to stop testing recipes, should i continue? there were a couple that i had bought stuff to make, so if you want me to get on it, just holla.

i had to move paku awhile back and i understand your frustration. how do you know what your google rating is anyway?

I absolutely love the PPK! My husband and I are way too busy to cook during the week so we go out to eat WAY too much. So we finally thought of a great idea so we can eat at home. Cook our little hearts out on the weekend and vacuum seal what we cook and freeze/fridge it for the week to come. I was so excited to get on the site and find a bunch of wonderful vegan goodies but the recipes aren't working! I can't wait to get them back! Good luck with the DVDs, I am sure I will be ordering a set. You should do some sort of special deal that people who buy the DVDs can preorder the cookbook and get a signed copy. (I am not sure if you can distribute the book, but I think that would be really cool.)

Thanks!
